Visit
in Toronto, Canada
Toronto - Part One
On Friday I left the
campground going to Toronto. At the border,
Canadian customs asked
me a few questions like any gifts?, liquors?, or handguns? I told
him I had none.
Then I rode for two
hours and stopped at a small, European-style town. I walked into
a bank to exchange U.S. dollars for Canadian dollars, then had a good lunch.
Returning to the bike, I rode along to
Toronto and found this is a huge
city with many suburban cities alongside. The sign by the freeway
says the population of Toronto is 2.2 million. I believe that Toronto
is 10 times the size of Seattle. All of the cars and trucks passed
me, even though I was going 65 MPH. Finally I arrived at Ajax, the
next town to Toronto to visit Dympna at her home, to which she had given
me easy directions.
I was so glad I had
made it through. She showed me around her house and I was surprised
it has a swimming pool!
The first thing I did was put the trailer away inside the garage, then
I took out swimming trunks to swim. She offered me Canadian beer
-- Labatt Blue. She cooked chicken dinner for three of us.
Her companion, Walter, is a nice gentleman. We had a good chat that
evening.
