Rochester - Part Two

On Friday, at last, I visited NTID (National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of Rochester Institute of Technology.  It is the world's first and largest technological college for deaf students and represents the first concerted effort to educate large numbers of deaf students within a university of hearing students.  Of RIT's 13,000 students, 1,100 are deaf or hard of hearing.  Unfortunately, deaf students were not there due to summer season.

My trip to NTID was worthwhile to keep myself busy while other bowlers played all day.  As you know, the bowling was not my bag.

On Friday evening I went to Rochester Recreational Club of the Deaf and found there were over 100 deafies.  The club is 54 years old and has a clubhouse that was 10 years old the same year the club was founded.  The club has three floors and can hold up to 150 people.  It opens every Friday and Saturday.  It is the only owned club in Rochester, N.Y.
