Montreal,
Quebec
On Thursday I departed
with so many beneficent memories of Toronto, Belleville School for the
Deaf, the Bob Rumball Center for the Deaf, and Niagara Falls, with so much
help from Dympna. I stopped by a small town 40 miles from Montreal
to camp, but the clouds turned very dark and I knew it would rain.
So I had dinner at a restaurant, hoping that the rain would occur at the
same time, but after dinner it started raining hard for a half hour then
turned to light rain. I camped at KOA (Campground of America).
On Friday I spent
three hours driving through the city of Montreal. I liked Old Montreal
-- it reminded me of Europe. I decided to drive all the way to Connecticut
and got there around 9:00 P.M. via Route 7 that I enjoyed because of the
true New England environment, the heavy density of green trees, old Victorian
houses, waterfalls, craft and antiques stores. My friends were not
home; however, I had access to enter the house. His hearing son,
Tom, was surprised by my visit. He can use ASL and told me his plan
of backpacking next day. Then we went to bed.
