On Sunday when I left Phoenix it was 111 degrees going to El Paso; the
weather made me tired and I stopped at Lordsbug, NM to sleep at a motel
for the first time since my journey began.
On Monday I drove the Goldwing motorcycle
with no problem but had a bad throat and lots of mucus. I suspected
that my body was flushed when I went to bed and in the late night I felt
cold all over my body. I stopped by the Balmothea State Park and
went to bed at 9:00 p.m. During the night the strong wind made the
tent flap to interfere with my sleep. I got up at 6:00 a.m. and went
off on the road to stop at Kerrville State Park (50 miles to San Antonio).
When I passed the small town of Ozond, I started to see green trees, bushes
and more. I know this will be a start on a tough zone with mesquite,
humidity, rain and lightning. I believe the bad weather will start
next week.
On Wednesday I will go on the run to Corpus Christi
to camp -- I saw it on the webpage and my curiosity was aroused. |
