Sturgis - Part 1

On Thursday morning I left camp knowing there was only 250 miles to Sturgis.  On the road I repeatedly saw bulletin boards advertising Wall Drug, at Wall, SD (100 miles to Sturgis), so I decided to stop by and was glad I did.  Featured were many western cowboys and Indians (Sitting Bull).  I learned that they give free ice water.   For more information about Wall Drug, check on internet via http://www.walldrug.com/

Arriving at the Hog Heaven Resort, I saw Jax and Dennise (co-chairpersons) at the registry office.  I decided to camp beside Jax's enclosed trailer in case he might ask me for help relating to a computer problem.  He is planning to write a
daily newsletter.  I will copy his story to be posted when I get home.  The resort is very big -- enough room to hold 1000 people here.  As far as I know there were just 20 people here earlier than I was.  The resort has food, clothes, souvenir booths, even a live band given free to campers.  I am enjoying it already.
